Workers' compensation covers heat-related illnesses

When the weather service recently predicted a heat wave to occur in some parts of New Jersey, employers were once again reminded that incidents of heat stroke are emergencies and that precautions must be taken to protect employees. Every summer, employees who suffered heat-related illnesses rely on the workers' compensation insurance program to cover medical bills and lost wages. This time, three days of excessive heat with temperatures going up to 101 degrees Fahrenheit was predicted.

Preventing pedestrian accidents in New Jersey

When you walk out of the office to grab lunch, you probably do not consider the possibility of a traffic accident, but maybe you should. According to the New Jersey Department of Law & Public Safety, pedestrians made up over 30 percent of traffic fatalities in 2015. What precautions can you take to keep safe?

Flash fire leads to workers' compensation and 3rd-party claims

When an employee in New Jersey suffers serious occupational injuries or dies in a workplace accident, financial relief is available. Injured workers or surviving family members of those who lost their lives are entitled to claim benefits from the workers' compensation insurance program. However, if there is evidence of gross negligence by the employer or defective equipment, third party claims may be filed.

Mediation is not only cheaper than litigation but also quicker

New Jersey residents who are involved in disputes of a non-criminal nature may be happy to learn that there are options other than civil court to resolve issues. Mediation has proved to be a valuable alternative for resolving disputes between divorcing spouses. In fact, it is a platform for reaching mutually agreeable resolution for any number of contentious issues. Mediation involves a neutral and impartial third party who is qualified to facilitate negotiations between disputing parties by encouraging communication and compromise.

Could mediation be right for you?

For some people facing the prospect of divorce, they are concerned that it will be a hellish experience that they want to get through as quickly as possible.  They fear that the divorce will consume them (i.e. financially and emotionally), they may believe that they will be ruined after the process is over.
