Personal injury claim may follow intersection collision

Car accidents can happen to anybody, at any time. Unfortunately, drivers on New Jersey roads will always be vulnerable, even if they obey all the rules of the road. The reality is that there will always be another driver who violates rules that are meant to prevent crashes that result in personal injury or death.

A 58-year-old Lebanon resident was recently reminded of the hazards on the road when he was involved in a collision at an intersection in Washington Township. According to law enforcement, the crash occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday earlier this month. An accident report indicates that it involved a sedan and a minivan.

Reportedly, the man was eastbound in a minivan when he entered an intersection. At that time, a 73-year-old Glen Gardner woman who was northbound in a sedan allegedly failed to yield or to stop before going through the intersection. Her car smashed into the minivan, causing arm, wrist and leg injuries to the minivan driver, and head injuries to herself.

Whenever one driver is deemed responsible for a car accident that causes injuries to others, he or she might be held liable for the financial and emotional damages that result. An injured victim can pursue financial relief by filing a personal injury lawsuit in a New Jersey civil court. However, it could turn out to be a complicated process because the plaintiff will have to prove that the other driver was negligent. Fortunately, an experienced personal injury attorney can provide necessary support and guidance every step of the way.
