ATTORNEY PROFILE
James J. Gruccio
Mr. Gruccio is a founding member of the law firm, joining the
firm in 1963 following his graduation from Villanova Law School.
Mr. Gruccio earned his undergraduate degree in International Politics
and Philosophy in 1960 from St. Joseph's University.
Mr. Gruccio is a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney and a member
of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has served as counsel
to numerous private and public companies, including lending institutions,
insurance companies and physician IPA groups, and regularly acts
as trial counsel or general counsel in business disputes, shareholder
disputes, corporate dissolutions, oppressed shareholder litigation
and personal injury litigation. Mr. Gruccio has also represented
judges, attorneys and physicians in malpractice and disciplinary
proceedings before various professional review boards. Mr. Gruccio
has held numerous municipal attorney and solicitor positions in
the City of Vineland, including his tenure as Solicitor and Director
of the Department of Law of the City of Vineland from 1972 to 1988.
He has also served on the Federal Magistrate Appointment Committee
and the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on the Unauthorized Practice
of Law.
Mr. Gruccio is a member of the Board of Trustees of Rowan University,
and Chairman of the Board’s Legal Committee and Budget &
Finance Committees. He has also been a guest lecturer in Civil Trial
Practice at the Delaware Law School and in the paralegal course
at Cumberland County College. He has served as President and a Trustee
of the Cumberland County Bar Association and in numerous other capacities
in the County and State Bar Associations. He has also been active
in a number of other professional organizations and in a wide range
of civic, charitable and community activities.
